In this two-day workshop you will learn a new way of creating mono-prints based on an old

technology, the hectograph. It involves applying paint to a printing plate made of gel. Textures and depth can be created by applying stencils, stamps, ribbon, netting, etc. to the paint. Paper is then placed on top of the paint and a one-of-a-kind print is pulled. The end product can be a picture, card, bookmark or used as the background for a collage. Heather’s work can be found on her website at https://heathermr.ca.

Equipment required: This two-part workshop requires no previous art experience and will provide you with the materials and equipment to develop some skills in printmaking. The cost of supplies is $15 paid directly to the instructor. Students can bring materials from home such as stencils, stamps, ribbon, netting, etc.
